# Frequently asked questions

Scan Clan is a free document scanner app for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux and the web. If your question is not here, write to [support@spirikle.com](mailto:support@spirikle.com).

### Is Scan Clan free?

Yes. Every feature is free to use, and so is the account. There is no subscription, no paywall, no trial and no advertising.

### Do I need an account?

Yes. A Scan Clan account is required to create documents. It is free to make, and it is what keeps your documents safe: they live in your account rather than only on one phone, so they reach your other devices and survive a phone you lose or replace.

### How much storage do I get?

Every account includes 500 MB, free. If you need more than that, write to [support@spirikle.com](mailto:support@spirikle.com) and we will sort it out.

### What does Scan Clan use my Google account for?

Only to create and identify your Scan Clan account. We request your name, e-mail address and profile picture. Scan Clan does not read, send or manage anything else in your Google Account. You can also make an account with an e-mail address and password instead.

### How do I delete my account and my data?

Write to [support@spirikle.com](mailto:support@spirikle.com) from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We remove the account and everything stored with it.

### Where are my documents stored?

In your Scan Clan account, and on the device you are using. Keeping them in the account is what lets them reach your other devices and outlive any single phone.

### Which platforms does it run on?

Android and iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux, and the browser. The camera, QR scanning and haptics are phone features; everything else works on all of them.

### How do I password-protect a PDF?

Choose the password option when you share or export a document. The exported file is encrypted with AES-256 and needs the password to open.

### How do I report a bug or ask for a feature?

Write to [support@spirikle.com](mailto:support@spirikle.com), or use Settings then Contact us in the app. Feedback sent from inside the app reaches the same place.
