## Is there a catch?

No. Scan Clan used to carry paid upgrades and they were removed. Every feature that was behind a purchase is now simply part of the app. There is no free tier and paid tier; there is one tier, and it costs nothing.

## Then how does it work?

Scan Clan is published by Spirikle and is not funded by advertising. We do not sell your documents or your personal information. The scans you make stay on your device unless you sign in and ask for them to be backed up to your own account. ## Do I need an account?

Yes, and it costs nothing. A Scan Clan account is required to create documents, because your documents live in the account rather than only on one phone. That is what lets them reach your other devices and survive a phone you lose or replace.

Every account includes **500 MB of storage**, free. If you need more than that, write to [support@spirikle.com](mailto:support@spirikle.com) and we will sort it out. If you want the account deleted, write to the same address and we will remove it and everything stored with it.
