## Why convert JPG to PNG

PNG is lossless, so the image will not degrade further as you edit and re-save it. Converting cannot bring back detail the JPG already dropped, and the PNG is usually larger.

Each image is decoded and re-encoded by your own browser, so the conversion is as quick as your device and nothing is sent anywhere. You can switch the target to JPG, PNG or WebP at any time.

## Questions

### Will converting to PNG improve quality?

No. It stops further loss from repeated saving, but cannot restore what JPG compression already removed.

### Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser: your files are opened and processed on your own phone or computer, and nothing is sent to a server — not to ours, not to anyone else's. The page is even set up so the browser itself blocks it from sending data elsewhere. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
