# Merge PDF files

Combine several PDF files into one document, in the order you want. **The files are merged in your browser and never uploaded.**

**Merge PDF** is an interactive tool that runs in a web browser at https://spirikle.com/tools/merge-pdf/. It processes files on the visitor's own device; nothing is uploaded. There is nothing to call from Markdown — open the page to use it.

## How to merge PDF files

### 1. Add your PDFs

Drop the files onto the box above, or choose them from your device. You can add more at any time.

### 2. Put them in order

Drag the files by their handles until they are in the order you want. The first file in the list becomes the first pages of the merged PDF.

### 3. Merge and download

Press Merge PDF. One file, merged.pdf, is ready to download a moment later.

## Joining PDFs without sending them anywhere

Every page of every file is copied into the new PDF exactly as it was — text stays selectable, links keep working, and nothing is re-compressed or turned into an image.

Most online PDF tools upload your files to their servers to do this. This one does not: the merge runs in your browser, on your device, so it works for contracts, medical records and anything else you would rather not hand over.

## Questions

### Can I change the order of the files?

Yes. Drag each file by its handle, or focus the handle and use the arrow keys. The merged PDF follows the order of the list.

### Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. Remove the password first — open the PDF with its password and save or print it to a new PDF — and then merge that copy.

### Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser: your files are opened and processed on your own phone or computer, and nothing is sent to a server — not to ours, not to anyone else's. The page is even set up so the browser itself blocks it from sending data elsewhere. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

### Is it really free?

Yes, completely. There is no sign-up, no daily limit, no watermark and no paid version of this tool. Because the work happens on your own device rather than on our servers, it costs us nothing to run, so there is nothing to charge for.

### Is there a limit on file size or the number of files?

There is no fixed limit, because nothing is uploaded. The only limit is your device's memory: very large files (hundreds of megabytes) work on a computer but may be too much for an older phone.
