Add your PDF Drop the PDF onto the box above, or choose it from your device. ### 2. Pick the resolution Choose 72, 150 or 300 DPI. Leave Pages empty to convert every page, or type the ones you want. ### 3. Convert and download Press Convert to PNG and download the images one by one or as a ZIP. ## PNG or JPG? PNG is lossless: every pixel is kept exactly, so text, charts and screenshots stay razor-sharp with no smudgy edges. The trade-off is size — a PNG of a page is often several times larger than a JPG. For a page that is a photo or a scan, [PDF to JPG](/tools/pdf-to-jpg/) usually gives a much smaller file that looks the same. ## Questions ### Is the background transparent? No — pages are drawn on white, the way a PDF reader shows them. ### Which resolution should I pick? 150 DPI suits screens and documents. Use 300 DPI if you will print the image or need to zoom into small text. ### Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere? No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser: your files are opened and processed on your own phone or computer, and nothing is sent to a server — not to ours, not to anyone else's.
