## Why convert PNG to JPG

JPG files are far smaller for photos, and every site and app accepts them. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white.

Each image is decoded and re-encoded by your own browser, so the conversion is as quick as your device and nothing is sent anywhere. You can switch the target to JPG, PNG or WebP at any time.

## Questions

### What happens to transparent areas?

They become white, because JPG cannot store transparency. Keep PNG (or use WebP) if you need it.

### Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser: your files are opened and processed on your own phone or computer, and nothing is sent to a server — not to ours, not to anyone else's. The page is even set up so the browser itself blocks it from sending data elsewhere. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
