# Resize images

Make images bigger or smaller — by a percentage or to an exact size in pixels — without stretching them. **Resized on your device.**

**Resize image** is an interactive tool that runs in a web browser at https://spirikle.com/tools/resize-image/. It processes files on the visitor's own device; nothing is uploaded. There is nothing to call from Markdown — open the page to use it.

## How to resize images

### 1. Add your images

Drop one or many images onto the box above.

### 2. Choose the new size

Scale by a percentage, or type a width and/or height in pixels. Keep proportions on to avoid stretching.

### 3. Resize and download

Press Resize images. Each file name ends with its new size.

## Exact sizes without the stretching

With "Keep the proportions" on, the image is scaled to fit inside the width and height you give — so a 1200×800 photo asked to fit 600×600 becomes 600×400, not a squashed square. Give only a width and the height follows.

Each image keeps its format. Making an image larger than it was cannot add detail that was never captured, so upscaling softens it.

## Questions

### How do I resize to an exact size like 600×600?

Choose "To a size in pixels", type 600 and 600, and turn off "Keep the proportions". The image will be stretched to fit exactly.

### Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your web browser: your files are opened and processed on your own phone or computer, and nothing is sent to a server — not to ours, not to anyone else's. The page is even set up so the browser itself blocks it from sending data elsewhere. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.

### Is it really free?

Yes, completely. There is no sign-up, no daily limit, no watermark and no paid version of this tool. Because the work happens on your own device rather than on our servers, it costs us nothing to run, so there is nothing to charge for.

### Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in any up-to-date browser — Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox — on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux, with nothing to install.
